Создано новое научное направление по поиску космических струн современными методами астрономии. a) Разработаны методы поиска космических струн в оптическом диапазоне применительно к астрофизическим инструментам высокого углового разрешения (наземные телескопы Европейской южной обсерватории, космический телескоп Хаббла).
