Пуриновое основание в 37 положении тРНК стабилизирует кодон-антикодоновое взаимодействие в, А сайте рибосомы путем усиления стэкинг-взаимодействия в кодон-антикодоновом дуплексе. Замена пуринового основания на пиримидиновое приводит к увеличению энтальпии взаимодействия на =30 ккал/моль.
