Лесовосстановление, предполагается, приведет к большему сохранению углерода, поскольку основная часть фиксируемого в фотосинтезе СО2 запасается в стволах деревьев, которые затем можно хозяйственно использовать, надолго удерживая углерод от попадания обратно в атмосферу (Исаев с соавт., 1993, 1995; Уткин, 1995; Уткин с соавт., 2001; Schulze et al., 2002).
