На поздних стадиях развития инфекции эндотелиальные клетки и фибробласты, инфицированные эндотелиотропным штаммом VHL/E, различаются по локализации вирусных антигенов: до 15 дня сверхранний антиген р72 и ранний антиген рр65 локализованы в ядре, после 20 дня антигены накапливаются и в ядре, и в цитоплазме.
