Согласно общепринятой теории мышечного сокращениятеории скользящих нитей, во время укорочения или растяжения мышцы сократительные нити актин и миозин не меняют своих размеров, а генерация силы и движение границ саркомеров происходит за счет специфических белковых структур — миозиновых мостиков.
