Крупные эпидемии и эпизоотии были* зарегистрированы в ЮАР (1974;75 гг.), Египте (1977;78 гг.), Мавритании (1987 г.), на Мадагаскаре (1991 г.), в Кении (1997 г.), в Саудовской Аравии и Йемене (2000;01 гг.).
