Впервые феномен ишемического прекондиционирования был обнаружен R. Lange et al. (1984), которые в своем экспериментальном исследовании на животных показали, что исчерпание АТФ после повторных коротких ишемий происходит в меньшей степени, чем в случае однократного эпизода ишемии.
