Апоптоз — это запрограммированный процесс, с помощью которого многоклеточный организм эффективно избавляется от определенного числа клеток. В сердце с помощью апоптоза осуществляется постнатальный морфогенез. В апоптоз вовлечены множество механизмов, приводящих как к его индукции так и его ингибированию.
