В настоящее время существует достаточно обширный класс соединений, обладающих ионной проводимостью, но при этом находящихся в твёрдом состоянии — твердые электролиты. Проводимость в данных веществах обуславливается подвижными ионами: катионами и/или анионами. Однако наиболее значимый интерес представляют материалы, способные быть проводниками ионов кислорода.
