Впервые продемонстрирован новый механизм влияния концевых последовательностей Р-транспозона на экспрессию гена-мишени, что может играть важную роль в эволюции регуляторных последовательностей. Показано, что в результате вырезания Р-элемента остаются концевые последовательности размером 14−18 п.н., которые эффективно активируют транскрипцию рядом расположенного vQnz yellow.
