Многочисленные исследования показали, что большая часть злокачественных опухолей женской репродуктивной сферы, таких как рак молочной железы и рак эндометрия, являются гормонозависимыми. Особое место в патогенезе данных заболеваний занимают эстрогены, играющие ключевую роль в стимуляции клеточной пролиферации в органах-мишенях.
