Современные демографические тенденции, наблюдаемые в экономически развитых и развивающихся странах, свидетельствуют о неуклонном росте доли населения старших возрастов. По прогнозам к 2050 году доля лиц старше 60 лет составит 35% в Европе и 22% во всём мире.
