Отметим, что методы генетической инженерии, получившие в последние десятилетия большое развитие, позволяют не только генетически модифицировать живые организмы, но и, что, с нашей точки зрения, особенно важно, изучать биологическую роль конкретных генов посредством специфического подавления функциональной активности соответствующих РНК.
