Комплекс северо атлантических видов подрода ИегИгета эволюционно самый молодой, из всех ныне живущих литторинид (11е1<1 е! а1., 2012), их изучение крайне актуально для понимания эволюции рода ЬШогта в целом, учитывая, что детальный анализ видов подрода ИегНгета в российских северных морях ранее не проводился.
