В последние годы рождаемость в России резко упала. Суммарный коэффициент рождаемости вместо 2.15, необходимого для простого воспроизводства населения, упал до 1.3 (Кошелева, Плужникова, 2004). Такое снижение показателей рождаемости связано, в том числе, с возросшей частотой нарушений течения беременности.
