Недавние исследования показали роль Hsp90 в регуляции системы NO-рГЦ-сОМР. Например, Hsp90 может регулировать активность эндотелиальной и нейрональной изоформ NO-синтаз. Hsp90 стимулирует синтез N0 и подавляет образование супероксид-аниона, осуществляемые NO-синтазой. Hsp90 связывается с эндотелиальной NO-синтазой и стимулирует активацию фермента кальмодулином.
